Just a quick update:

I blew a eraser size hole in one of my exhaust valves and bent rods 5 and 6 back in Dec 06.

I sent my car to Forged Performance in mid-March. I finally got my car back over the weekend.

5 months after blowing the motor, I finally have my baby at home.

I was a little disappointed when they told me that my car measured 255 rwhp on Stillen Stage II. But when they told me that their dyno measures the lowest out of all the ones used and after they told me that GRD has one of the highest measured dynos around, I felt better. I originally had my Stage II dyno'd at GRD at 293rwhp before the build. Sharif at Forged Performance said that after doing the calculations the difference between the two dynos was in reality about 6rwhp. Sharif said that if he calculated the dyno the same way that GRD did then his would have read 299rwhp. I got on the road but it was extremely hot and humid down in Georgia and it felt a little sluggish. Once I started driving north I hit some cooler areas in Tennessee and was able to jump on it a little. I really can't tell a difference between the pre-build and the post-build, which is a good thing.

So with all this said, I'm sorry to inform all of you, but within the year I'll be having the Stillen removed to have it replaced with a twin turbo setup of some sort. Haven't completely decided which one, but it will be pushing between 500rwhp and 550rwhp, which will be plenty for this sedan owner.

Peace out!!!

Sorry you had so many problems with this kit and with the warranty company. Just goes to show that there still is no guaranteed way to go FI.

Now that you have an 8.5:1 motor you could always play around with getting a UTEC, larger injectors, fuel pump and going for a ~10psi pulley for the Stillen just to see. Even if it doesn't work out you will be able to keep all that stuff toward a turbo kit.

But if it did work you would have a bulletproof set-up with your Stillen.

Tim, you don't have to be sorry. Its all good.

Who knew that the warranty company that Stillen uses is shady. I did find out that Stillen seems to be in some sort of marriage with that warranty company as Stillen refused to refund me the money spent on the warranty. On top of that, Chuck Clemens the customer service manager tried to sell the 6 rib pulley/belt upgrade to me for over $400.00. After all the problems with this thing, blowing belts and crap, you would have thought that they would have cut some kind of deal with me.

***sigh***

When will people realize that good customer service will bring in way more business than being douche bags on stuff like this will save?

I agree with the CARB thing but I have had less issues not having the belts.

Twins are the only way to go if you have the money. Figure on an extra $3-4k for it.

yeah thats a little more than I want to spend at this point. maybe if i got a raise before buying the SC. i might consider an upgrade to twins. My friend dropped 12k after its all said and done on his APS twins with install. I'm not in that range of aftermarket right now.
