Love it! It's totally a different ride now!
Is it a good idea to just change the pistons and rods to minimize a blown engine? I understand that the stock rods being the weakest link - is that correct?

I think you're right. But with stage 4, you should be ok. Honestly, there are plenty of guys who are running way more boost and power on the stock block. But, I've also heard of guys who have blown their motors w/ simple bolt ons and stillen kits. Just make sure your a/f is ok when you dyno. Since you have that many miles on your G, you may want to look into a compression test as well.
You can run stage 4 on a stock block no problem. I did it for a while. But yes you are right the rods are one of the first to go. If for any reason you do build your motor stick with the stock compression. If you go down you will loose a lot of power.
One thing I did notice w/ my new stage 2 kit is that when I'm in manumatic mode and I shift at > 4k rpms, the tranny seems to slam into the next grear...a lot harder than it used to. I don't know if it's a problem, but I did notice that today.
Btw, does anyone know the part numbers for replacements belts?

in case anyone anyone wanted to know
I just got done weighing the stock Plenum, upper and lower and it came to 20lbs while the Stillen unit with the lower plenum piece weighed in at 38 lbs
so only has 18 more pounds over stock (not including everything else)
