clunking noise when "drifting" with vdc off???
there was a snow storm last week so i decided to turn the vdc off and "drift"/do some donuts in an empty parking lot just for fun, but as soon as i started to slide with some lateral g i hear clunking noise from the rear.....what could this be?

ok we got a crapload of snow again today and i noticed its not from the rear, it comes from the engine bay, even if i floor it in a straight line with vdc off and no traction, the rear wheels would spin and then started to clunk from the engine bay with the slip light blinking
so its not from the rear, it comes from the engine bay....maybe its the vdc system? but how? why?

actually i have something similar to that, lets see it wasnt when i turned off vdc, it was when i took out the chip fuse thing. so if i do a 180 it feels like a i have one of those clutch type lsds where it will click click click as you go(mainly when turning) Ive yet to go out and to practice and see if it will affect anything. im scared though, what if the rear axles fall off like in those youtube videos? well it wouldnt happen, but what if it did? that would suck.
anyways when i go out sometime this week im gonna try and find out what it is.

I was having a similar issue during an autocross event... it only happened a couple of times, and it would feel like the vdc was kicking in every time the sound occurred, even though the vdc was off. I remember reading too that the vdc will kick back in during extreme cases, even when turned off.
