I thought the MREV2 made more power than the Cosworth unit. I found one dyno comparison well over a month ago and decided to get the kinetix racing plenum instead....besides, the Cosworth unit is discontinued...and probably because it didn't perform well.
Probably on a simple bolt on non tuned setup. Motordyne said the spacer/mrev2 combo was designed for pretty much stock non tuned cars. Plenums like the cosworth and kinetix velocity not only need tuning, they also need the right combo of parts to compliment it.

I running a supercharger with the spacer/mrev2 combo. Only adding the Kinetix for top-end...as soon as I can get an install and tune date. My tuner has made gains with Kinetix racing intake versus the spacer/mrev2 on FI.
Picked up a 2007 G35 Sedan from second owner (owned since late 08) last week for pretty much next to nothing. Mechanically great, pretty much immaculate interior, bunch of new parts in the last few years (always dealer maintained, with receipts) and so on. Only issue is that it has some hail dents, but I’m pretty sure I can get rid of most of them fairly easy.
Going to be doing some baseline fluid changes and other maintenance and upgrades/updates during the next couple of weeks. I will most likely offer it for my daughter to trade it for her 05 MB C230K she’s had the past 8 years when she comes home for Christmas from medical school. The MB is still great, but since she lives nowadays over five hours away, I’m thinking the G might be more reliable going forward as she still has couple of more years to go. We’ll see...
But for now I keep on working on it and if she takes it, I’ll still be the designated mechanic for it, and if not, I’ll keep it and enjoy it when I want to keep the miles off my truck.
I replaced the rotors and pads, and installed extended studs for some spacers. Went with 15mm for the rear and 10mm up front, and Hawk HPS pads with Z1 rotors. So now my offset is 35 at all four corners for the stock staggered Enkei wheels. The rotors that were on there had gotten horrendous! So happy they are gone! All three shots with wheels on are with the spacers. Now I need to take care of some of that gap above the tires
Based on an idea I found somewhere on this site, I added cheapo Bluetooth adapter from Amazon to stream music through AUX. Seems to be working fine so far.
Installed some OEM 350z Nismo struts and shocks I got for $100 used. Slight but noticeable lowering, "race car wheel gap" -2 degrees camber in front and -2.5 degrees in rear with just truhart rear camber arms and .04 degrees of toe in. SPC toe bolts to be installed next car season to fix that. Took a gamble but rides great, almost OEM like over small imperfections
I couldn't help myself and had to try making the mold for the mid-car brace again and the cold garage has NOT made things easier. One thing I've proven though is that I absolutely SUCK at making molds....seriously, I need like a class or something on this, but its good enough. So now the carbon layup is done and ready for infusion. If only FedEx didn't f-up and had my MTI membrane tubing delivered today I could have the part infused by tomorrow....oh well.
The cast aluminum on the front of my motor was pretty badly oxidized and just looked like s*** so I had some free time and wanted to try and clean it up a little today. I didnt want to spend too much time on it since the engine cover hides most of it anyways, so I tried a few spray cleaners at first but they didnt do much at all. I ended up having to use some brass wire accessories to clean it. After using brass brushes, wire wheels, drill attatchments, a dremel tool and about 3 hours I ended up basically polishing the whole front casing. I still need to put a polish or protectant on it but it turned out alot better than I expected. I almost don’t even want to put the engine cover back on ha That flex intake tube is temporary just btw. I sold my Z-tube and still waiting on my silicone tube to come in. I know it looks rediculous right now

Finished the all carbon mid-car brace. Titanium hardware is on order and now just need to decide if I want to practice with satin clear or stick to gloss. Not that it matters since the part will be under the carpet, but I've been meaning to try satin or eggshell gloss on some of my carbon parts and see how they turn out.
Happy with how this turned out. About half the weight of the original, easily stiffer, and definitely an improvement in my infusion technique. A worthy replacement to a piece of stamped steel original.
Now that my daughter has been driving the G for a couple of weeks while home for Christmas, she seems to have convinced herself that she wants to trade her MB for it.
So, in anticipation of her departure tomorrow, I changed the oil/filter as well as air filters and cabin filter. Sure would like to go slap the grease monkey at the local quick change place for tightening the filter like an idiot. Been a while since I’ve encountered one as tight as that one.
Did something FOR my G today. I disconnected the ABS cluster by the ABS unit. Due to a bad sensor the dang thing kept giving me issues so I deleted the sucker all together.
Im super pumped about not having the factory limiter on my car anymore
