What did you do to the G today?
Got it open but holy crap! This thing is built with 3 layers of circuitry. I cant take it apart anymore without risking damage so im just gonna have to figure it out from here. For those of you wondering....Im trying to get my fog light switch to control my parking lights. That way I can turn on my parking lights without causing my dash to go dim.
All I can see is a fuse for it but thats located in the small fuse box in front of the battery.
^the fog lights wont activate unless the head lights are on. how were u gonna work around that? the kp module is supposed to allow you full control of the fog light switch but that product is iffy
I thought it would be a basic relay...just supply power and it will activate. Then I would route that power to the Taillamp relay, which turns on the parking lights. But no it isnt a basic relay, its a reverse system. It has constant positive supplied to it. When the headlights AND foglights are switched on, the CPU grounds the negative side of the fog light relay and turns the foglights on.
So I said screw messing with all that reverse electrical system crap. I just decided I would not use a switch, and just have the parking lights come on when the car is started. I figured I would route power from the ignition relay to the taillamp relay...so when the ignition relay came on, it would activate the taillamp relay too. Well...I figured out which one the taillamp relay was in the "CPU" but I wasnt sure about which terminals I would use. Its not a basic SPST relay and its soldered into the board. I searched online and couldnt find a diagram for that specific relay. I need my car and wasnt willing to risk any damage trying to figure out the operation of the relay.....so I gave up on that too.
Next step! Screw it! I decided to supply power directly to the parking light wire coming out of the IPDM harness. I didnt wanna draw the power from anything inside the IPDM, since those are mostly essential for the car to keep running. So I decided to route the wire all the way inside the cabin to my seat heater switch. My parking lights draw about 3 amps and the seat heater is fused at 15amps and only powers on when the key is switched to Acc. Perfect!

My aftermarket headlights have halos and LEDs on em and I want them to be on during the daytime. They are tied into the parking light system. I cant use the light switch though because that dims all my dash lights.
Ideally, I would want the halos and LEDs to come on without the rest of the parking lights, but it would be a lotta work to try to isolate them. That might be a future project though

Why couldn't u just tap power straight to the headlight parking light using a light harness kit with a relay? For the trigger wire that activates the relay just use whatever u want to power on the light.
Well im pretty much doing the same thing, but without the extra harness kit and relay.
Should always use fuse and relay jus to be safe . If u wanted to still do the parking light thing I'm pretty sure u could tap into the wires inside the car near the fuse boxes like how they install car alarms. The wiring diagram for that is on the forum jus use the same wires for light, pwr, and ign.

Finally decided to fix my heated seats. Turns out the heated seat relay underneath the steering wheel wasn't completing the circuit; cleaning and bending the contact fixed the problem.

We had to fix both front seat switches a while back. It was more work to get the seats out than it was to disassemble, clean and put back together the switches.
