installed 3.5" aluminum single driveshaft.
Just a bit larger diameter than oe so there was a small rubbing issue with heatshield and e-brake spring. once i took it apart (again) and did a little "modifying" ...
Love the response! should have done this years ago.
This addition is in response to the un-serviceable U-joints on the OE shaft breaking down on me.
Have also,, very recently, installed the upgraded g37 cv axles and hub assemblies for the rear. VERY pleased with these components.
that's a great mod, I still remember the improvement from installing my CF driveshaft. The drop in drivetrain rotational mass at least to me was most noticeable in higher gears where the car suddenly struggled less in 5th or 6th gear on the highway as there was a noticeable improvement in torque at lower rpm.
kind of agree on the "meh" in terms of asthetics, but more than anything I'm looking forward to the nismo versions and tunability of the turbo motor. Plus it comes with a manual so It really should be a pretty good package.
Oil, tranny, diff fluid change on mine today, oil pan spacer on another one.
For the future, anyone doing a pan spacer, COUNT THE BOLTS to make sure you have them all to prevent an emergency run to Home Depot before your RTV sealant sets up... it takes a 6 x 30mm long bolt for the pan bolts.
Also, not sure this has been mentioned anywhere so I figured I'd toss it out, the lower pan baffle either needs to be TRIMMED so it doesn't interfere with the different placement of the pickup tube neck, or you can just delete the baffle. The baffle is only on the rev-up engines I think, personally I just delete it. Here is that lower pan baffle I'm talking about, the red part is the section that needs to be cut out to clear the fill neck if you so choose.
