I envy you guys; I have not even chirped a rear tire on mine

Well there's this little button near your left knee that can fix this problem

I've been a bit busy, but still working on the various projects little by little. The most interesting one is I've finally made some progress on my inlet ducting....this has seriously turned out to be sooo much effort. I'm up to version 16 of the original design; between trying to get the lines right, to getting it to fit the bumper correctly, to designing it so I can actually pull it from a mold. It's been a bear, but I can now safely say I see the light at the end of the tunnel and the first 2 molds are done (I need to make 2 more ducts and molds to route the air in the middle of the bumper, but those won't be visible and will come later this year).

Test fit of one of the working versions in PLA:

One of the things I really spent a lot of time on is getting these pieces to "flow" with the rest of the front end. Once I went through the first couple of versions it became clear to me that the lines must line up otherwise the whole front end just looked...off. So I ended up doing a few versions until the angles were correct and the dividing line in the duct would line up correctly with the hood line. I think it's much better this way:

Once I was finally happy with the design (version 16) I printed the molds :

The molds were then sealed using gray urethane primer, then clear coated for that extra slick finish, then wet sanded and buffed. Here are the two molds with one of the test pieces:

I expect to do the carbon layup sometime this week and hopefully the vacuum infusion over the weekend....this has been fun.

And the best part is i'm not quite done. These ducts allow air to enter the bumper correctly and direct the air towards the brake ducts and the radiator, however to complete the whole thing I still need to make the ducting that will sit in the middle of the bumper and will mate up to these pieces to properly direct the air into the center of the radiator (I'm not just going to send air into the corner of the front radiator, I want the air to hit across the whole thing), so all in all I don't expect to actually put the finished carbon parts through their paces until next track season and altogether there will be 4 ultra lightweight all carbon pieces of ducting behind my front bumper.

Wow, that is turning out a lot better than I thought it would. Excited to see how the final revision will work.

Didn’t even finish trimming, but very happy with the results so far, the weave matches the splitter perfectly

no trimming, just a fast test fit in the bumper; just shoved it in the hole. These will mount ultimately from the backside of the bumper so the flange won’t even be visible, but I already love how this looks:

G35 Coupe 3.5
New here, sorry fellas. Didn't want to bog up the forum with a repeated question, but can anyone point me towards a post about overhauling the suspension on a 2005 G35 coupe? Looking to restore OEM ride quality, so something that addresses common suspension parts that go bad would be appreciated. TIA!

I finished the first half of my front radiator and brake carbon fiber ducting solution. So far I'm super happy with the results. I took some pics, but due to the near holographic nature of 4x4 weave CF its super difficult to take any pictures that do this thing justice. It shimmers and shines and swaps from brilliant CF stripes to dark black depending on the angle especially with the angles in these ducts.

money shot first:

Now onto the details and a few more angles:

I wish I could convey in pictures just how cool the holographic effect of the carbon is in person.

Some install pics on a makeshift table:

Obviously these ducts are incomplete, because they only send air to the corner of the radiator so next I need to make the inner parts shown here in blue. Now that I know exactly how much space I have and was able to take some measurements I already starting drawing up the next pieces that will match up to these ducts. Some trimming and gluing will be needed and then a clear respray:

No more track days for the year, so I have plenty of time to get these behind the bumper parts done. Sadly, they won't be visible, but ill post some pics from the install.

Uhhhmmm.... email Outcast Garage, I think they make a mesh for it. Can't remember for sure but I was considering buying that front end from them and I'm PRETTY sure it was available with a mesh they made in-house.

They're really good to work with, email them, I'm sure they'll take care of you.

As for what I did to the G today...

Funny story, started off with a weekly bath, dry, then went for a little drive down the road and about halfway there the car shuts off. I'm thinking "****! Something got wet." So I coasted into someone's driveway, go to turn off the key and it's ALREADY OFF...

I hit the key with my knee somehow and shut the engine off while driving /facepalm.

I really need to look into that mod people were doing to take the RFID chip out and put it into the key that has all the lock/unlock function actually in the key without need for a separate fob.

installed 3.5" aluminum single driveshaft.
Just a bit larger diameter than oe so there was a small rubbing issue with heatshield and e-brake spring. once i took it apart (again) and did a little "modifying" ...
Love the response! should have done this years ago.
This addition is in response to the un-serviceable U-joints on the OE shaft breaking down on me.
Have also,, very recently, installed the upgraded g37 cv axles and hub assemblies for the rear. VERY pleased with these components.
