Maybe passing air over dry ice contained in a vented (to prevent making a bomb) metal container? I have seen diy/redneck camping air conditioning like this.
Update - my APP sensor was indeed bad. Was in a heat-induced troubleshooting spiral and then a friend stopped in. I stole the pedal from her car while she wasn't looking and did some resets and everything went back to normal. Ordered a new oem pedal assembly and should be back on the road tomorrow. It does burn a bit to have to buy a whole new assembly when the sensor would be easy to replace....

Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide, and reduces the amount of oxygen in the air as it transitions to gas, so dumping it in the intake box would reduce potential for spark no?

Bummer you ordered it already, the switch CAN be replaced without swapping the entire pedal assembly.
Here's an example.

Uninstalled the MD 5/16" spacer and all associated hardware, cleaned it up and shipped it to nasch007. It used to be sadness when I sent off another part of Amanda but now it's more relief than sorrow. I like the fact that parts of her will soldier on and not just die a slow death in a salvage yard.
I also called Progressive to check on a claim I had to make 2 weeks ago today on my beloved Peyton: 2006 GTO, purchased 3.5 years ago with 27K miles, LS2, Tremec M6 and 99% stock as it sits today. It is 1 of only 101 ever made exactly like it. It was flooded here in our neighborhood with water up to the top of the tires and it's almost assuredly going to be deemed a total loss. Front floorboard was dry but the rear floorboard was soaking wet, we visually verified in my driveway that the air filter, intake tube to the throttle body and the TB itself all were wet with water. Got it home 2 blocks with the motor running a little rough and a light clicking noise when I shut it off. Waited an hour for the rain to subside, went out to start the motor and let it run for a while to dry out the engine compartment and FML it had an extremely loud rod knocking. Shut her down and called Progressive immediately. Estimate for repairs is right at $13K and the damn car's only worth around $14K.

Well if you do end up getting rid of it you should seriously look into a 2015 Camaro Z28. They fixed those horribly uncomfortable seats that my old 2012 one had and it's got a monstrous 7.0L LS7 in it that makes a tad over 500BHP. I got the pleasure of daily driving one for 3 days this week and it's a VERY fun feeling car and the next logical step up from an LS2 equipped GTO.
It looked great, it sounded great, they're only about $35k right now for one that has about 30k miles on the clock which is a hell of a bargain for the power and handling you're getting.

Thanks guys, for a few days I was in a funk then logic prevailed and I'm ready to move on. I've always believed that all things happen for a reason so there's a reason that all of this has happened, what that is I'm not sure yet and may never know. On a possible replacement I'm looking at something a little bigger since I now have 3 step-grandkids and 2 step-kids and the Goat's back seat was relatively useless. But whatever I get has to be performance based so that's a big driving force (no pun intended) in choosing my next vehicle. As most of you know I also like to have unique cars so I'm looking hard for something that fits my parameters. Right now I've got my eyes on a Lincoln MKS AWD Ecoboost. It's basically a Ford Taurus SHO with a different skin and inside, a little more plush but with the twin-turbo Ecoboost motor. My top target is one fairly local that is very similar in color to the GTO ironically. The motors put out 365HP stock and because they're mod friendly like a lot of Ford motors a simple tune and CAI nets about 90HP and 75lb-ft tq. All of this is done by e-tune, no dyno necessary and it's right at $700. It's a different world from the VQ's for sure. Here's a quick pic of the one I'm looking at. With the tune/CAI it'll be faster than the GTO was stock and still get around 20 MPG around town....
