I hear you however I'm at the point in my life where a comfortable car with good straight line acceleration is more important than having a car that can carve twisty roads aggressively. I might end up with a SHO though and it would have the sport suspension to be a more aggressive ride. I really like the Lincoln though...decisions, decisions.

No the 3.5 Ecoboost is literally the same Duratec 3.5L block that they used in the mid 2000's era and it was a GREAT engine with almost zero reliability issues, they strapped on TiVCT and GDI, added two turbochargers and detuned the bejeesus out of it for passenger vehicle applications.
Basically what they did was purchased the new fuel delivery and management system being developed by Bosch and made it all fit the bulletproof reliable 3.5 Duratec block.
There is also a newer revison of that motor that they put in the new Raptors but it's got a LOT of redesigned components as well as adding port injection back onto the motor (still uses GDI), the initial claim was that they needed more fuel delivery but everyone knows that was bullshit and they did it because all these new GDI motors have horrible accumulation on the valves because there's no gasoline in the intake to wash all the **** off that comes back in from the PCV valve.
Everyone with a GDI-only engine needs to delete their PCV asap.

Hall,
No cleric's spot on. They've put the 3.5 in a variety of vehicles and as I mentioned above they're very mod friendly. Add in an e-tune and CAI alone and it's a 90/75 bump without breathing hard, add more exhaust mods and the gains continue to rise at a very reasonable price, a far cry from our beloved VQDE motors. The car pictured above stickered in 2010 for $58K and has every option available, I'd give it a 9.5/10 inside and out and my OTD price comes in at $9865. The Taurus' stickered $10K less with almost as many options but their resale is about 20% higher. The Lincoln has every option offered including the Ford SYNC3 operating system that includes voice control of nav and many other operations, heated/cooled seats, THXII certified sound with 600 watts, parallel parking assist, intelligent cruise, adaptive headlights (turn as the car turns), twin moonroofs etc. It's a hell of a lot of car for 10K.

I also called Progressive to check on a claim I had to make 2 weeks ago today on my beloved Peyton: 2006 GTO, purchased 3.5 years ago with 27K miles, LS2, Tremec M6 and 99% stock as it sits today. It is 1 of only 101 ever made exactly like it. It was flooded here in our neighborhood with water up to the top of the tires and it's almost assuredly going to be deemed a total loss. Front floorboard was dry but the rear floorboard was soaking wet, we visually verified in my driveway that the air filter, intake tube to the throttle body and the TB itself all were wet with water. Got it home 2 blocks with the motor running a little rough and a light clicking noise when I shut it off. Waited an hour for the rain to subside, went out to start the motor and let it run for a while to dry out the engine compartment and FML it had an extremely loud rod knocking. Shut her down and called Progressive immediately. Estimate for repairs is right at $13K and the damn car's only worth around $14K.

That's really sad to hear. That neighborhood of yours... Amanda's wheels and now the Gto went swimming.

No on the Holden, I really like the newest Chevy SS's but their prices even used are still astronomical. Common to see a 2015 with 100K miles still fetching around 30K and while it's a great car I can't justify spending that kind of money. And on the neighborhood front we live in a different place than we did when the Gravis 1's got jacked so 2 different neighborhoods. Thanks for sharing my sadness, I'm ready to put all this BS behind and move on.....

Not this time around. I really like the Chevy SS's, they are a Holden Commodore, but even used '15's with 100K are still $30K or thereabouts. That's more than I want to spend on a 5 year old car. On the wheel front I lived in Houston at the time and I'm in Corpus Christi now so 2 different neighborhoods. I'm past the grieving point with the Goat and I'm ready for the BS to be over, moving onto something different is fun again.

EDIT: Didn't do much to the G this weekend, rained a lot so I just gave the leather a good scrubbing with a plethora of protectants.

Spent about the whole day workin on my car. New rear rotors and pads with some spray paint on exposed surfaces to keep em from rusting. Painted my front calipers and did the same with the exposed parts of the rotors. I can still smell the spray paint when I inhale. (My lungs hate me right now). Replaced the front right fender liner since my tire had chewed a big hole into it. Removed front bumper to fix the mesh grille that had come loose when I hit a piece of plywood on the freeway a few months ago. Then I noticed my right license plate light clip had broken and it was hanging. Took care of that with some super glue. Lets see how long that holds.
Then I finally installed a new battery on my bike....been meaning to do that for like 2 months now lol. Time to start riding again!!
