BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

My service guy at Peninsula Infiniti "Bob Anderson" took care of the problem...They have to order a "seat track" which will take about a week to get in....They are aware of the problem!

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

Geespot:
Great email. Keep it up! I have been dealing with ICA for some time now over the fit and finish of my G. I even tried to get them to either buy back, or partially re-imburse me for a newer model. My story is a long one, but I have enough rattles, squeaks and electrical weirdness to drive me nuts. They of course, will not do what I am asking. Another make of vehicle is looking pretty damn good about now.
Those of us having issues need to stick together to get our problems resolved, like the seat controls.
Let us know how they respond!

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

Excellent letter Robert. I've notified Infiniti of the cushion problem via phone. No action beyond the TSB which seems insufficient (I reviewed it at the dealer). My seat rocks slightly but that's an annoyance rather than a physical discomfort.

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

Thanks for the kind words Ht and Bone.....no response from Infiniti yet. I sent it out several days before I posted here. I am going to make several more attempts to resolve this through Infiniti. If this fails, I am going to begin sending letters and emails to all the major Auto magazines and websites and posting this letter on all the online review sites I can find. I encourage anyone else who suffers from this poor seat design to keep the pressure on Infiniti to make this right!

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

I'll join you on that quest GeeSpot. I've contacted the dealership that sold me the vehicle a number of times regarding the torture rack and they say that I'm the only one that has said anything. They even offered me a replacement vehicle, but I'm so upside down on this car I'd lose my a$$. Today I called another dealership and explained the situation and they said they'd look into it and give me a call back. Guess what - no call.

I'll be sending ICA a similar email to yours, then I'll go on a letter-writing campain. I drive 40-50 minutes each way to work and it's killing me. My 23 month old son pushed on my leg to get my attention and it hurt. WTF!! From a fargin' car seat!!

I'll keep you updated on any progress, if any.

To which they FINALLY replied two weeks later:

Thanks for emailing Nissan North America, Inc.

In regards to issue that was stated in your email. At this time I am unable to assist you.

But I can assure you that when the vehicle is taken in for an assessment and there is a repair that needs to be performed your local Nissan dealer will be more than willing to assist you

To which I replied:

That's it?

You all are WORTHLESS!

How much did you pay JD Power to get your high ranking?!?!?

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

That Infiniti response is unacceptable. I have been frustrated enough that I thought about calling every single day for as long as I could stand it. I figure if the seat is annoying me, and they will not help, I can return the favor....

Anybody care to join?

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

I'm in, I plan to contiune to email them, phone takes too long...

Here's my latest email:

Now that I've cooled off a bit...

I apologize for my remarks, but perhaps I've gotten my frustration across to you?

Please escalate this issue to a manager/supervisor so I can discuss it further...

Thanks,

I have found that when you are nice to people, you get better results, treat them the way you would like to be treated, bottom line!

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

I will be sending daily emails to Infiniti as well. I will also compose a letter that will go to every automobile magazine. I'll also include my comments in the JD Power questionaire. If enough people do the same maybe Infiniti will stand up and resolve this. Hey, if they would only fix it I'd be a happy driver again.

Right now I can only think of a few automobile mag's. Does anyone have a faily comprehensive lists of auto mag's?

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

Now I am getting really pissed with Infiniti.
I did have a very friendly and courteous rep. work with me on all my issues, but bottom line, Infiniti will not do anything to get me out of my vehicle, and I did not even go there regarding the seat issue. That email response is unacceptable!
Even if the majority of G drivers do not experience the kind of leg problems you guys are, that does not diminish the poor design issue. Even a few people experiencing these kinds of issues warrents action, and Infiniti is not delivering.
I think we should all continue the emails to them. Has anyone gone the route of contacting the Coucil of Better Bisiness Bureaus? That may be my next step.

Re: Uncomfortable drivers seat!!!

Hi All,

I've had my '04 G35x since early Jan. It has been uncomfortable for any trip over 30 minutes in length. In fact, it even began to bug me on short trips as well.

I finally found a permanent fix and got it done today. I TRADED THE CAR FOR AN ACURA-TL.

I will miss the Bird's Eye Nav in the G. Likewise the AWD of the X. It has performed great the past 6 weeks. But my buttand right leg just couldn't take it any more!

I will pick up many features in the TL that the G doesn't have. Such as: Bluetooth phone integration, Voice Commands, programmable key fob, memory mirrors, etc.

However, the seating was my big reason for trading. But, it's not just the seat. It is the total overall driver ergonomics. The TL is far superior to the G.

Thanks to all.
