Rlq I wanna get component speakers with higher watts in the front. If the speakers are high quality but are just speakers without the tweeters for the pillars and crossovers is that a big deal? I was considering upgrading speakers and just leave the pillars tweeterless

pillar tweeters are tricky to replace, never sounded quite right when I put components in my SE-R, you can probably get away with a decent set of 2 or 3 ways in the front and leaving the oem tweeters or just removing them like you said

^Define "big deal"

The beauty of a component system with nice crossovers is that each speaker can do it's job. Tweeters can produce crisp highs without being 'muddled' with lower frequencies, the speakers can produce mids and mid-bass without being overwhelmed with low to sub bass, or try and produce high tones (and suck at it LOL)

All in all, you're just much better off to run true components than to simply up your power.

its true, I just found that sticking the component tweeters in the stock pillar locations didn't really sound right. Although I guess I've never had a car with a system that sounded any better then that..lol

Yep. The light hasn't come back on in 2 days so maybe it was just a glitch.

Yea is a lot of $$ for competition speakers with tweeters and crossovers but I can get just speakers for a good price. I don't have oem tweeters anymore. I have decent components with the tweeters and crossovers it comes with but I want competition speakers not just decent components and a stronger amp

Hammerhead, my buddy has an IS250 6spd and I've driven it multiple times and it lacks power really bad, it's fun to drive but only about as fun as my 1.6L acura. If you go from a 6mt G to the IS you're going to regret it. But I agree, style wise I have been wanting a 2IS for a while, they grow on me more and more, their performance and overall road feel just lacks too much that I couldn't buy one.

If I were to buy an auto lexus it would be a new GS, not sure if you've ever one of those things straight piped, but OMG amazing.

I'll find you the videos of Mr. Ings straight piped one, it honestly made the Z exhaust sound just "decent" and I love the OEM exhaust on the Z.

Anyone have any advise on coilovers for my 04 sedan. I just want them for looks and keep the ride comfort as good as I can...

IS250 is brutal.

And I really dislike the way those IS cars drive. It is like the way an LS is supposed to drive, not a sports sedan.

^I still think some good quality components on a nice amp are going to be your best bet. Probably worth poking around in the AV board and asking some of the guys that are more knowledgeable, or just searching.

But then again, I'm more of an audiophile, I don't need to break glass or set off car alarms across town... I just want a system that sounds perfect.
