I'm pretty sure all 2003's had cassettes. And yes, the 2003 does come with Bose. Mine is a 2003.5 with Bose and cassette.

 

2003.5 doesn't have the ugly doggy door handle on the trunk.

Another thing, this car is a 2003.5 6mt, if cold (as in the car hasnt wamred up) when you sgtart it the rpms, go up like normal, then the rpms drop down and the car stalls.....does anyone know what could be the reason for this? there is no check engine light or anything

 

2003.5 6MT sedan comes standard with sports package.

Cassette player also comes standard on 03-04s, with Bose being optional. Check the flap of the cassette tape insert and the sub woofer mesh behind the back seat, if it says Bose then it comes with Bose system.

Does the rpm drop after it warms up or when it's still cold, right after it started?

 

Those might be hard to find. I've only seen kits for the piston seals. Have you tried calling back to the powder coater to see if they still have them when they were taken apart?

 

Idk how to explain it but when you start it the car basically immediately stalls out. Then on the second start up its fine

 

Does the car drive fine? If it does then it might be the throttle body needs to be cleaned, my car was doing it when the throttle body was dirty. There's some gunk build up around the throttle valve. Clean it up and see if it helps. Remember to DISCONNECT THE BATTERY before you clean the throttle body.

 

yes the car drive great, i just biought it so tomorrow im going to start doing full maintenance on it,like changing all the fluids andcleaning everything up.


Another thing, the guy i bought it from said he used synthetic blend high milage oil. Nowdo i have to keep using synthetic blend or can i switch back to normal conventional oil? I much rather use conventional oil

 

^You're far better off using synthetic oil.
If you absolutely must switch back, you should run at least 1 oil change in-between that's a 50/50 synthetic blend.

 

and if imay ask why do you say im better off using synthetic? i know i can search for this,im at work right now and doing a little bit of internet searching...

 

I need an oil change..I have an 03.5 at 160k...any types of oil brands (synthetic), i can buy at autozone or walmart, you recommend?

Is there different filters, if so which do you reccomend?

i usually take it to a shop for oil change, so im not sure what brands i should look for

Personally if i were you i have a 03 also with about 157k i switched to Mobil 1 synthetic. Its good oil and still affordable. I also add a bottle of stp oil treatment every change.

Better off staying clear of Mobil1 oil and Fram filters

 

It's just better, and used oil analysis has proven it.
