Random Little Question Thread

I have to give them a call to see if they pay return shipping if not why even offer warranty. i'm not really a brake guy what do you mean by blank they use??

But no, these won't be all black for more than a few miles.

This makes them incredibly weak. Especially if the company used cheap blank rotors to start with, which are ALREADY super weak and prone to warping.

Most cheap drilled/slots are actually just cheap Blank rotors that have been modified. Literally drilled and slotted with a machine.

The important points are:
- What was the quality of the original rotor before it was machined.
- How was it machined (10,000 holes = not a good idea)
Drilling rotors inherently weakens them. If you take an already crappy rotor and Swiss-cheese the heck out of it, it's gonna warp in no time. But if it was a fairly good, strong rotor, and not 'over-machined' with too many holes/slots, then it can still provide years of good service.
But let's all just take a moment and remember, for our cars, unless you're talking about very expensive racing brakes, drilled and slotted rotors do nothing to improve braking.
If you're buying them, you're doing it for looks.

Just to be clear, nearly EVERY drilled/slotted rotor is machined after the fact.

They will probably lie just so i buy it. I barly drive the G drive more car more so the brakes will be more for look but id rather get quality brakes since the wife is driving the G and the way she drives :

as you mentioned i think the important thing to find out is how good the rotor is before they Machined the crap out of it, but i doubt the company will give any info on it

Lower control arm broken
Hi guys,
I just recently bought a 2003 g35 sedan and it makes a loud noise every time it goes over even the tiniest of bumps. We have isolated the problem to be the front lower control arm. If anyone knows a good site where I would be able to buy a pair, please advise.

GTR wheels + G35 = Frankenstein
I'm sure we've all seen images of GTR wheels on G35's. When I saw it I felt like I had to do this to my car. I own a black 2006 G35x, and I want to get the GTR wheels for it. I found a set for sale with tires included*; however, I am uncertain if these will actually fit on my car. My concern lies with the profile of the tires...will these fit my wheel wells? My g35 has the stock 17" Infiniti rims and pretty high profile tires already. Can someone help me determine if these will fit?
Tires: (2009 potenza)
255/40/20 Front 28” diameter
285/35/20 Rear 27.9” diameter
Wheel Specs:
Front 20 x 9.5 45 offset
Rear 20 x 10.5 25 offset
