07 G35S 6MT
The trim scratch issue on my '07 6MT finally got bad enough to cross my threshold. The driver side arm rest and the steering wheel were both pretty bad, and buttons 2 & 3 (my favorite radio stations) are nearly completely worn off. Unfortunately the dealer just told me that I'm out of warranty (the four year mark was last November).

Has anyone had these items replaced beyond the fourth year without charge?

BTW, the service rep said, as others have reported, that they will replace it once under warranty as a "courtesy". I held back my laughter. When I asked if they replace them with the same parts, which have this problem, he said they were identical. I have trouble believing they haven't fixed this obvious issue.

Thanks,
Dan

I'm back from out of town and checked in with my service advisor. The steering wheel is still on back order. I'm guessing the extended delY is due to the terrible issues Japan is dealing with.

FYI, confirmed with the service advisor the shortage is due to Japan. He said the supply chain should get back to normal soon.

When I purchased my G35S used, it had 20k miles on it. Driver side handle scratched up bad, passenger not so much, and had the same steering wheel scratches as AZG37.
Took my car in for an LOF at Hoehn Infiniti in C'Bad about 2 weeks ago.
Talked to adviser about the issue and the peeling weather stripping on the doors.
They replaced both scratched up handles with new ones and made my steering wheel look like new!!
They didn't replace it, so I'm guessing they sanded it and painted it. Looks awesome!

I don't know if this is too late but... I bough my G last year and noticed some minor chips on the steering wheel and all the other ones that i had looked at on the web or in person. Obviously this was a quality issue of the car and fortunately Sewell Infiniti of Dallas replace the steering wheel no questions asked. When I got the car back I noticed that their was a small sound that I heard when I turned the new steering wheel in any direction, so I took it back and they installed another new steering wheel on it. Just FYI!
