in all my years of modifying cars, ive always found the biggest piping possible to be the best in every single situation including low-end power. it just absolutely has to be mandrel bent, and uniform piping sizes. Whatever piping comes off the merge collectors / header out-let, should be the size you stick to for the rest of the piping all the way out to the tips.
lots of people mix and match to much and end up with weird results. They'll put on a 3" exhaust, or some random section and post losses and then insist that smaller piping is better for NA applications etc.
Ideally someone just needs to make a system with the longest possible runners into very large piping that's uniform size the whole way out to the back.
As for using this HR Y-pipe, the best thing to do would be to pair it with long runner headers that have a 2.0"inch outlet, and then a midpipe/exhaust that's 2.5"inch...

Sup guys, I installed the y-pipe off an 08 Z on my car last weekend, and honestly, I can't really hear or feel any difference. When I rev the car, I can hear that it's a little deeper, but thats about it. I know this is a cheap mod, and won't provide any big gains, but I feel none :/
Just thought I'd like to share that with people who are still on the edge on whether to get this or not
P.S. my car is stock. this is my first mod

Have to disagree, when I installed it, it actually muffled the VQ warble at startup and lower RPMs a bit, but when revved, it was deeper. However, the real benefit can be seen when driving on the freeway and passing. It revs freer and no longer bogs down, as when downshifting and attempting to pass at 80 - 100 mph.
