i figure if im going to get some help with the spacer install, might as well use the help on the y-pipe install too...and maybe the HFC's if i have those before i decide to throw all of this on.

will i need to reset my ECU after the y-pipe and spacer install?
I hear you. You don't have to have a torque wrench though, just use a nut driver and hand tighten. That will put you somewhere around the 90 in-lbs spec. Go back in a week or so and re-tighten. I knew nothing about our motors when I installed my spacer and it took me less than an hour. Really simple but I'd recommend researching at least 1 DIY before you do it. Y-pipe is simple as well. You just need a jack and stands, or wheel ramps. The only problem you might run into there is rusted bolts. Here in Texas that isn't an issue.

One good thing about our cars is they are usually really easy to work on for most things.

true that...i figure having an torque wrench laying around cant be a bad thing, so im probably just going to grab one anyways. guess i should get some jack stands or wheel ramps for the same reason....cant hurt to have them lying around.

You'll get a ton of use out of a jack and stands. Oil changes, belt replacement, brake work, headlight replacement, suspension work, exhaust work just to name a few. Any standard jacks should work, just make sure they're rated high enough to support a 3500 pound car. I bought mine at Sears and paid under $30 per pair.

I purchased a 370 y pipe and just measured the pipes. The two inlets are 1 - 3/4" and the outlet is ~2.5" , are these the same measures you guys had with yours. What are the dimensions of the outlet of the OEM catalytic? , I have a 03 6mt coupe btw.

Larger pic

What type of HR-Y Pipe is this? It has those Pucks, but it looks thinner and the flex pipes are shorter, and the pucks are on thin pieces of metal...

Any one have an Idea?

Nope mine sits 99% flush as it did with my DE pipe. I do see a small sag on mine though.
(yes those are scrape marks/dents on body underneath...bad day...long story...)

Is your mid pipe connected to it's support hanger?

Going to say yours the VQ37 from what I've read here and looking at mine from a 07 VQ35HR Z (on right) with longer flex lines and heat shield a little different than yours.

Did any of you guys change the gaskets or use your stock ones? Also my bolts are rusted to crapp, any suggestions? I planned on using PB blaster. Did any of you with rusted bolts keep the same bolts or did you put new ones in?

just use PB blaster every 10 mins for 3 or 4 times before you get going. You can even use it the night before. The longer it sits on the rusted nuts the better.

I reused my bolts back when I used the 350Z HR y-pipe.
