Will the installed damper cause more or less stress on the exhaust components under heavy engine load??? I could care less bout a little nvh, but if my pe cats and arc exhaust ever got cracked I would be so pissed.
No if anything it will help them. It will allow for less engine movement, whcih means less strain on exhaust, transmission, and other parts.

This might be a dumb question, just saw Tinman's pic of the two green engine dampers...is it necessary to have two or is one good enough?

Thx for the reply Sean

The damper, sports side sills, and arc aluminum undepanel and air box are currently being installed on my G. I'm hoping the stillen will hold well and your good review makes me optimistic, but a tech did mention to me that he has seen quite a few of them snap off and break...

Our engine doesn't produce enough torque to need two IMO. Outlaw muscle cars with rediculous displacement and torque would have a use for two, but ours one is good enough unless you want the other one for symetrical looks.

Never heard of engine dampers snapping on our cars. Almost seems impossible. Let me know what you think when it is done.

Maybe imitation dampners break. No issues with my Stillen so far. Works great! Surprisingly effective litttle mod.

Just got back the car. I really don't notice any nvh, but I already had some, lol. Like others have said, this is a nice, cheap, effective mod.

I recently installed the Stillen on my G. Didn't notice any additional get up and go... but then again I've been taking it easy.

Did notice more vibration in the steering wheel, though . . .any maybe some additional rattling in my headliner (which is due to my BCT's antennas that run between the headliner and roof on both sides.)

Took me about 30m to install.... Stillen's instructions suck (as usual).

Pull out the reservoirs (no need to remove hoses) to get down to the rail for bolting on the bracket. Then another thing they don't tell you is that the ground that gets relocated to the top of the timing chain cover (TCC) requires you to slit the wrapping so you can route the wire appropriately. That could have also been just me, since I have Earl's braided hose in there.

If anyone has a problem, or really needs/wants a DIY, let me know and I'll try and put one together.

Cheers, Ted

I'll post them up tomorrow.

Just an FYI, the stillen engine damper and the ebay engine dampers are from the same manufacturer. You're paying $100 for a box with Stillen's name on it. They are all "Stillen" engine dampers.

The damper is hard to photograph b/c it's actually attached to the engine, not the plenum like the weapon r one. I tried to photo it, but couldn't get a good shot for lack of focus--sorry bro--props to filanj if he captured it.

not sure the stillen damper and the ebay damper are indeed the same, but they do look similar...

It is the same just as most of the products are riped from other manufacturers and rebranded under their name. I'm going to wait until morning seeing as my car is outside tonight

True enough. Nismo and stillen are notorious for this. I also have this feeling that my power enterprise HFC's are really ARC made...or so I tell myself

I really wouldn't be surprised nowadays. I've seen quite a few companies outsource their HFC's to Carsound/Magnaflow for production. Kinetix even states it on their site.
