Balancing

I've tried three times to nbalance the HP R5 wheels and I'm close but no cigar !!!! It's still a little off and was wondering if ANYONE has had the same problem with the wheels ??? The look good but I like no vibration at only 80 !!!!!

Did you try getting them hunter road force balanced? I had the same prob when I put my new wheels on, the car shook terrible at 80. I brought the car to a Nissan dealer with a hunter roadforce and they found one of my front tires wernt truly round, in other words defective. They balanced the other 3 and I was able to get another tire free from the place I got them from, I got it installed and roadforce balanced and NO more shaking at all. Give it a shot.

Important to know the exact imbalance of each wheel [without the tire] and to fix the wheels by grinding or glueing on fixed weights to bring the wheels into perfection.

Axial and radial runout measurements of the wheel are specified and a less than 2-3 gram flange error is achieveable.

Then you deal with the tires and how they are mounted.

All NEW tires change in the first 500 miles so a rebalance is required.

sometimes if the wheel balancer keeps telling u to add weight on one side of the rim it might help if u popped the bead and rotate the tire bout 180 degrees see if that might help..

Sad to say, the guy is saying that the wheels are fine just that the Nitto NT 555's are just low grade tires and that there will be a slight imbalance in the front and that by purchasing a set of Michelin Pilots would eliminate the problem all together !!!!!! With the road force balancing it got a little better but didn't solve the problem. I don't know, if I had bologna skins on I thought they would at least balance a little better as in no shake in the front. Opinions are welcomed !!!!!! Also, what do you all think of Nitto tires as I thought they were good. I would like a second opinion before I spend the $1,200 for the tires.

it happens. there will always be a defect in some way when it comes to mass produced parts. unfortunately, it happens with Nitto's more often than you think. i hate to bash on products, but swap all 4 of your Nitto's for something else. Nitto's are not a very good tire. there are many lower priced brands that offer far more performance/comfort/satisfaction. if price is a factor, look into either Fuzion ZRi's. they're priced very attractively, and imo (i'm running them now) are very good.
