Rev-Up airbox on a VQ35DE - special note
It would run the number indicated up above when I passed though the timing lights at the end of the track. Why?

The Stillen may work better for you, but that doesn't mean it will work better for him with his near-stock setup. My suggestion to him was to save the money from the Stillen because it would be a waste and better spent elsewhere. That's still true. Or do you think he will benefit from it over the OEM?
I agree on the wasted time. No point in listening to someone blather on and call people stupid when all he's got to fall back on is his butt dyno regarding the intake's effectiveness.

Not exacly "mpg is lower". You haven't shown it to be inaccurate, other than to tell us of the ridiculously short trip you based your "similar mileage" claim on. You know, the one where I pointed out the numerous variables that weren't accounted for? DaveB also pointed out several potential fuel/air/timing changes that can occur because of the Stillen while standing still, all of which can affect gas mileage, and none of which you've countered. And if you'd studied statistics at all you'd know that 100 miles is grossly inadequate to base any claim on.

I don't see a problem with this.
simply uninstall the current box an remove back half (as if you are changing the filter) and replace back half with the revup version - re-install as normal.
