Check the owner's manual for the installation/wiring part. If it lists a dimmer wire on there, it should dim if it's wired correctly.

Can't seem to find an answer to this:
My pioneer Z120BT power harness has only a blue/white wire for the "auto-antenna relay control terminal" or "to system control terminal of the power am". However the input of the PAC ROEM-NIS2 has both a blue "power antenna" wire and a blue/white "amp trigger". Which one do I connect the blue/white wire coming out of the pioneer harness to ?
BTW I have a 2003 G35 coupe with two BOSE speakers in the rear.
Thanks!

Connect the blue/white to the amp trigger. Connect the power antenna (antenna amplifier) to the cigarette lighter's +12v wire. The antenna amplifier in our cars draws more power than most aftermarket units put out, causing poor FM reception if you use only the power ant signal wire.

Does the new stereo have its own fuse on the back somewhere? What is its rating?
How did you connect the two harnesses? Solder? Electrical tape? Shrink wrap? Crimp connectors?
I have the pioneer avhp4300dvd and it has its own fuse.. the wires where crimped...the bose stereo did the same i would replace the fuse and within a couple of hours the fuse was blown...now i called infiniti and they r saying that i need to replace sum sort of circuit board but they failed to tell me the part number.
Almost done with the new wiring harness. There are still two wires coming out of my Pioneer I'm not sure where to splice in.
1. Pink Car Speed Signal Input
2. Purple Reverse Gear Signal Input
I am ordering a backup camera so I would like to know where to splice in the purple wire for a reverse gear signal, but not sure what my best option is and the pink from my understanding is to increase the accuracy of the GPS so I would def. like to splice that in as well.
Thanks in advance !
edit: Never mind, did some searching and purple reverse goes to a purple reverse wire in a cluster at driver side foot well by door. Pink goes to 4 wire harness plug pink. Pls correct me if i'm wrong

First, thank you for the list, very resourceful, getting ready to install my DD soon.
Quick question, I have an '05, coupe, w/ Bose, non-nag, do I need to get a bracket? I keep reading mix advice about this.
Thank you!

If you needed it, it'd be in the shopping list.

For the stereo, yeah, that's fine. I would look for something more solid for an amplifier though.
Today I hooked everything up, the headunit, hd radio module, pac-rom, swi, all worked flawlessly. Thanks Wrathernaut, this thread has been super helpful and my Z120 worked awesome.....and then I did something stupid.
Being unbelievably ****/ocd about having everything routed super clean/perfect shielded/and put together like a german tank I decided to reroute the wires going to my pioneer HD radio module sitting in the back of the car. So I unhooked the yellow power wire from the harness up front, the bus wire, and the antenna wire and started working. Then out of nowhere I noticed a thin puff of smoke come out of my PAC-ROEM NIS2 and as I watched in horror I realized that the thin yellow power wire coming out of my harness under the radio that was minutes ago hooked up to the yellow power wire headed to my HD radio module had just made contact with the PAC-ROEM. As the word "fawk" slowly rolled off my lips I knew it was too late and I knew what I did during my OCD-ish quest for perfection .... I forgot to disconnect the battery.
So I'm out 40$ as I just reordered a new PAC-ROEM, checked all the fuzes and none seem to be blown (back of headunit fuze, fuze to HD radio, fuze on steering wheel interface). Is there a good chance I damaged anything other than the PAC-ROEM during my excursion into idiotland?
