my car is a 2006 g35.
let me see if there’s a difference between 06 and 07 SWC wires
all the buttons worked prior to the DD install. I got all buttons working except mute. Mute worked prior so now idk which wire goes to the two aswc wires lol

I used iDatalink SW for my steering wheel controls. It has way more options on what buttons do.

For mute in my car I press and hold volume down for 2 sec and let go to mute the radio.

i have short press and long press setup so each button can do 2 things.

i do not remember the wire colors on the wire but if you look at the pic connect to the correct pin in the connector and you will be good.

ASWC may not support mute feature in some cars. I never tried it in my car so I can’t compare.

i went with iDatalink maestro from the door because of the extra options and easier installation but it’s more expensive then aswc.

I have a question about bypassing the bluetooth module for steering wheel controls in my 2006 coupe with Bose system. According to the instructions for my Maestro SW the bluetooth module harness should be left disconnected, but I'm suspecting it supplies the reference voltage for the steering wheel controls. I've tested the resistances of signal A and B to ground and they correspond with the specs in the FSM but with the key on there is no voltage at either of those pins. Should the bluetooth module be reconnected after the bypass or left unplugged?

the steering wheel controls wires go through the Bluetooth module, if you just unplug it you loose steering wheel controls.

steering wheel controls are ground signals through a resister so you will not see any voltage on it.

after you disconnect the Bluetooth module you need to connnect a couple wires in that plug.
and leave the Bluetooth module unplugged.
im sure I posted that picture here in the past.

steering wheel controls consist of 3 wires.
ground input and 2 outputs.

if you need that diagram to see what 3 jumpers you need to do in the Bluetooth plug let me know and I’ll look it up for you.

in aswc and mistro ws instructions for the car it will be on the last page if I remember right.

Steering wheel controls go through the module and intercept some of them, passing the others through. You just wire around it.

The first post has a link in it if you just search for bluetooth in it - How to keep steering wheel controls when you had factory bluetooth

The image is broken in that though. I'll see if I've still got the source image. edit - image isn't on this computer, I may have to dig up an old one to find the image.

here’s the answer.
this is for the maestro SW but will also help with ASWC for the Bluetooth module.
