Lower control arm

For my 2004 g35x I can't seem to find any aftermarket lower balljoints. I believe the balljoint that connects to knuckle only comes with the knuckle assembly. But there's a second balljoint that is bolted in with 2 bolts. The new control arm I purchased from the dealer does not have this ball joint. Can anyone tell me if this ball joint is is sold separately?

Most (maybe all?) ball joints and control arms for the X are dealer only. Bummer.

The lower ball joint has to be bought as the whole steering knuckle assembly. Double bummer.

So AWD owners are SOL? All I can find are the Vollig and Duralast ball joints. I ordered the Vollig ones a few weeks ago but they got lost in the mail. It doesn't help that I'm currently in Canada. Either I reorder the Vollig or I get my cousin to send me the Duralast ball joint from USA. Shipping will be expensive regardless.

I'm not sure how the Vollig ball joints are compatible with both RWD/AWD. Surely there will be fitment issues.

Sorry to hear that... I replaced mine with SPD ball joints from ConceptZ. It worked out just fine. The mechanic broke his presser trying to take out the original ball joint LOL!!! Not sure about AWD compatibility though... Good luck!

How are you getting that stupid cone off the top of the ball joint? I am beating the **** out of it and prying it with a pickle fork for the last hour. Even used a breaker pipe over it and tried prying it up but no luck. I can hammer it all the way in but the cone itself dosnt budge. I have 3 different sizes ive tried

I am considering making the trip to get a pneumatic fork & use my air hammer or cutting off the stud

I got a 3' pry bar, found a good place to pry it, and still took my whole body weight bouncing on it a few times. When it came off it shot off like a bullet. Be careful.

They worked perfectly. I've never pressed out anything before and these two kits made it a trouble free job.
You have any issues with the boot covers? On mine they are not really fully against the base evenly. The boot slides up and off rather easily but dosnt wanna budge all the way down.

Edit: Checked out pics online, seems normal for the boot not to sit 100% on the base. The boot gets squished down a little from pressure after its bolted back down anyways. Time will tell!

I reordered the eBay ball joints on 1/28 and they arrived today ($32 shipping). I noticed the brand is MTC and not Vollig as stated in the listing.

MTC# 1010163
Ball Joint Only
OEM # 40015-AL55BJ
5/22/14
www.mtcparts.com

So I emailed MTC today and they said it isn't compatible with AWD models. I messaged BremenTech (eBay) before purchasing and they confirmed that it is compatible. I even left a note at checkout, "For a 2005 G35X AWD Sedan."

Here's the item on Amazon.
Amazon.com: Nissan 350Z Infinifi G35 Ball Joint Kit - Front Lower Control Arms | Two (2) Pieces | Fits Left and Right: Automotive Amazon.com: Nissan 350Z Infinifi G35 Ball Joint Kit - Front Lower Control Arms | Two (2) Pieces | Fits Left and Right: Automotive

Such as waste of time. Can anyone confirm if the ball joint from Autozone is actually compatible with the G35X AWD? Thanks.

Almost 99% sure awd and rwd are different. I seen these on eBay but I don't trust them and for 500$ it's robbery. http://m.ebay.com/itm/151069010061?_mwBanner=1

The ball joint comes with the steering knuckle. They are about 300$ a piece from Infiniti parts usa. I'm in the same boat

The ball joint from Autozone and eBay look exactly the same. I think the one from Autozone only fits the 2WD. Clearly an error in the listing.

Anyone have a picture of an extracted ball joint from an X for comparison so we can finally put this unicorn to rest?
