get a weight and side by side comparison if you have time. I'm curious what the stock shaft weighs. Just in time for the track looking forward to your review.

car got dynoed without me really knowing. I was told the tuner was going out of town, but then he decided to staty and finish up my car at like 2am!

I have no idea of the numbers but I got a text pic that was 540 at 6K rpms no meth.

I should have something solid soon.

I will do the before and after when the drive shaft comes in. we can link up at that time. Prob next week! my car is getting buttoned up now.

can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck with that IP diff brace. I've been trying to get them to make a batch since November and they keep pushing it further down the list. Last I heard was to call back mid February.

1st off BIG thanks to the guys over at PowerTrain Industries!!!

okay, from the top... i show up they get me on a lift immediately. there's a buzz around the shop about these new shafts. we weigh the 2 shafts, OEM=31lbs and CF/AL=15.7lbs. ZERO clearance issues along the length of the shaft w/the under-body or exhaust. so sedan being same as coupe fitment confirmed. after further inspection there's some concern about the space between the forward flange and the seal on the trans(smaller gap than OEM). they're concerned about sub-frame play and how it may cause contact between the two. how are we gonna find out? they literally went to BestBuy and picked up a GoPro Hero2!!! they stick it under my car and tell me to goose the **** out of it. we review the video and see that the only play is during deceleration and the movement actually pulls the shaft away from the trans, only adding more clearance. these guys were not only EXTREMELY professional but they also showed a genuine interest in ensuring the product functioned up to expectations.

impressions...

- Hard Launch: car feels lighter and acceleration more urgent

- Street: added responsiveness

- Highway: smoother ride. passing power feels instant, pedal effort reduced. even at partial throttle, pedal remains extremely sensitive

*Note's: My car has full breather mods and tune, plus CAMs, 3.7fd gears, TransGo and pretty extensive weight loss(click my garage for full info). I always compare my car to my Wife's G, she her main mods HR y-pipe, 5/16th plenum spacer, RevUp air-box w/A'PEXi panel filter, and free flowing mild diameter exhaust. her mods make her car extremely responsive, even over stock. even after every mod done to my car, her's always had a slight edge during street driving. the responsiveness just could never compare, until now. this mod really closes the gap after shifting the power-band w/a free flowing exhaust and intake path. during highway passing after installation of my TransGo there was about a 1 in 5 chance that in full auto(100% for manual mode) the car would shift violently and explode into acceleration. after the cf driveshaft it's more like a 3 in 5 chance. you can really feel the freed up torque. i don't have any before and after dynos, i don't even have a dyno from after my cam install. i'm not a big numbers chaser anyway. i will be running the 1/4mile in Fontana this Sunday(unless it get rained out). Even though Fontana is a notoriously slow track i'm expecting significant improvements due to recent power and weight loss mods.

here are the few pics i snapped

Nice Mark! Thanks for the update

You should see significant improvement on your .25 mile from last outing... it will be hard to tell how much is the drive shaft since you've done so many things since then...

Weather permitting, maybe you will be the first to reach sub 14... in which case I'd venture to say the shaft had a significant role...

I'll try to make it out to Fontana - even though it might be in the truck (G is allergic to water )
