I have used M1 5W30 and 10W30 both. I now am using Amsoil 10W30 and I change it every 7500 miles. I use about 1/2 qt between changes and I have 92K on the motor.

Were you using a different amount between changes on the M1?

Is OC something that just keeps getting worst at a constant rate? Is my VQ going to be trash in another 50,000mi?

I currently own a 2005 G35 coupe. Its been great I have been driving for 3 years now. There hasn't been any oil consumption problem up until now. I usually change my engine oil every 5000kms. Now, its been around 4000km since my last oil change, and today when I checked the oil level it was at the "L".

Is this a sign of the oil consumption issue? Will Infiniti get my engine replaced? I think my warranty expired though will they replace it for free? Also, my car just hit 90000kms. What do I need to do right now.

Oil

I hope everyone is checking the oil level after the right time after shut off, these cars have a time you are to wait before you check the oil. They are not like other cars where you shut it off and then pop the hood and check it in 5 seconds. I will try to get the right time span unless someone has it handy.

Ummmm... thats pretty much the rule of thumb for EVERY car. Youre supposed to let the oil drain back into the pan. Thought every man came out of the womb knowing that....

Waranty is 7 years and 72k or 76k miles? I cant remember on that, but the rule for engine replacement is a quart of oil burned every thousand miles or more. I am going to have to put the i think disclaimer on all of this though since it isnt even 8am yet.. Someone please correct me if i am wrong.
