Factor in traffic and it turns into a 2 hour drive. Im in East Hollywood. Plus I wasnt really in a rush to get them.

Are their shop prices the same as online?

I added some carbon fiber accents on the upper trim, hazard button, and shiftier bezel. Has anyone found touch up paint that matches the original silver? I tried wrapping the lower console gunmetal but I couldn't get it perfect so I decided to keep it OE... I like the two-tone look anyway, opinions?

Pardon the mess, the car's been on jacks for 2 weeks with no incentive to clean it.

Somebody take this heat gun away from me, I can't stop!

I wrapped mines too:-D

Unique color, really spices up the G! Your console looks easier to wrap since it's more flat and doesn't wrap all the way around like the crappy '03-'04 console, I got a few ugly creases on the sides which would have driven me crazy so I pulled it off and left it stock for now. What's with that orange peel texture on your wrap, is that how it's supposed to look? That would cause me to tear it straight off without a second thought, but that's because it would just remind me how crappy my car's paint is.

You have stock camber arms (UCA front and LCA rear).

The rear can be adjusted with the stock camber bolts but your mechanic may not have knew that.

Dude I'll never take my car to an alignment shop again. My last car, I lowered it by installing H&R springs. Took it to a professional tire shop and had them align it with their laser system and they said they almost got everything perfect. So when my lease was up, I removed the wheels and was surprised at how bad the inner corners had worn out. Had some cupping on there too. So I'll be doing all my alignments myself from now on.

My car hates me, and I've only done good things for it.

2 AM update. Z1 engine mounts bolted to engine and ready to be dropped back into the front X-member, except I found that the driver side engine mount mounting point was also broken right off the front cross member. Oh well, time for more JB weld and 24 hours of waiting.

This side turned out pretty good.
I fabbed these guys up with an angle grinder, sawzall, and drill to fit in that entire slot to take the stress off the JB welded sections.
So I'm almost done, just need to drop the engine back down and do the bottom engine mount nuts, and put the cross brace with the compression rod studs back on. SO CLOSE, NOTHING LEFT TO STOP ME!

I'm tightening up my passenger side compression rod nut, with the torque wrench set 40 ft-lbs under spec and...... SNAP
FML. It looks just like this. https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/458809-uh-oh-compression-rod-stud-broke-what-now.html
I hate my life.
Looks like tomorrow night is going to be another fun ordeal of grinding, drilling, tapping, and swearing.... And lots of Loctite Red.
And to think I knew nothing about mechanic work and had no tools when I bought this car.

On that nut I strongly recommend using anti-seize and subtracting -25% to -35% torque, start with a subtracted 35% and see how it "feels" then increase torque to a subtracted 25% and call it good. Check torque again after a week of driving to confirm it's still within spec.

So I swapped my rear wheels out with my sister's Mazda 3 wheels....only the rears tho cause the front wouldnt clear the brakes. Drove the car around the block and the annoying slight grinding noise is still there. Jacked up the rear wheels and spun them in the air and the sound almost seems like its coming from the differential area. I havent changed the rear wheel bearings yet but its not lookin like those are the problem.

What can be inside or near the diff that can be causing this damn noise? Its not a constant grind...more like a "wrrr wrrr wrr" kinda noise. U can start hearing it around 20mph and fades away as I hit 30.

There's a few bearings inside the differential that are lubricated by the internal gear oil, have you checked fluid level recently?
