Just put it together and contact one of the moderators. They'll approve it and post it accordingly.

Personally I hate the way we have a DIY dump sub forum, I think it hides all of our contributing members hard work and thoughtfulness, as well as their abilites.

The thumps are what worries me. If it's all the exhaust, that's no problem. But if it's something like the oil pan or differential or what have you, that's what I'm worried about lol.
The cool thump you are hearing is from your front jack point (subframe connector?..I forget what the tech term is for it). Jack your car up and take a look when you get a chance. It will be obvious by the cool scarring I'm sure it has by now lol All those parts sit lower than your oil pan

I am looking at getting some Enkie RPF1 in this size Fronts are 18x8.5 with 30mm offset and rears are 18x 10.5 with 38mm offset. Anyone know if this will be too aggressive? Any pics of something similar?

figure out the size and offset of your current wheel.

type the width and offset on the top

type the width and offset of the new wheels on the bottom.

click calculate to see how many millimeters more it sticks out and also your inner clearance.

http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

if you want inches. then go to google and convert it

My car feels like the tires/rims weigh about 300 lbs each, takes some muscle to turn the wheel at low speeds.. and every little pebble on the road is giving me more than normal steering wheel feedback.. Tires are good, shocks/struts are new..time for bushings?

Hard steering is primarily caused by:

1. Power steering issue/failure
2. Seizing upper strut mounts (bearings)
3. Poor/seizing tie rod ends
4. Poor/seizing ball joints

Is this a new thing, that happened suddenly? Or is this a new car to you that you're just getting familiar with?

The G has stiff steering to start with, what are you comparing to?

Just the mid is all you want. $25-$75 otherwise you can just have a muffler shop weld in a smaller resonator. And yes direct fit.

Likely tie rods/ball joints or strut mounts.

Is it 'loose' or does it 'shimmy' over bumps at all? Any clunking or uneven tire wear?

Something to consider, many shops will inspect your front end for free if they think they'll get work out of it. A few phone calls may net you a free inspection, then you can decide if you're going ot fix it yourself or have them do it.

Yeah the wheel seems to "shimmy" over bumps. The wheel wants to pull itself out of my hands at times it what it feels like. Its not so drastic that its scary or hard to drive, just didnt used to be this way. She has 90k miles on her right now too, so im sure something down there is due for replacing anyway.

I've got an 03' G35 coupe with the factory 18's i believe they are and the paint has started to chip really bad i've been wanting black rims but haven't had the money to buy rims yet, i've been thinking of sanding them down and painting them myself. Does anyone have any recommendations to a type of paint i should buy, could i spray paint them black or would it look too bad? Ideas are greatly appreciated.
