Random Little Question Thread
What about $550 shipped for the full set of akebono calipers? I am working on getting it down to $500.
I think that would mean I would be able to get everything I need, including powdercoat and 2 pc rotors for under 2500

We settled on $500 shipped. Can someone tell me if these have all necessary hardware (shims, etc), so that I will have a complete setup after buying:

nice dude great pick up ! looks like its all there, except you need the Front Hardware and Adapter brackets, then rotors!
PM me what you end up donig on rotors, when these are wiped i"ll want something lighter

^Willdo, picking up these used will give me some extra cash to spend on powdercoating, and then some. Im debating between a couple right now, but I am fairly certain that I wont get them used though. Who did you get your akebonos through? CZP or Z1?
With pads? That's amazing
I got mine from CZP but these rotors are off the chart heavy, I fought about even installing them for weeks. Like adding a set of wheels, not cool.
So for sure let me know what you end up doing, and agree, never buy used rotors

As far as rotors go, to the best of my knowledge, the 2 piece options are
Front
OEM 30 lbs
DBA 24 lbs
CZP 23 lbs
Racing Brake 22 lbs
Rear
OEM 20 lbs
Aftermarket 1 piece: dont know
Racing Brake 2 piece: 16 lbs
The racing brake rotors are prohibitively expensive though, Im going to wait around for a group buy from either Racing Brake or CZP, but at this point the CZP package is looking very attractive to me. I am also not sure if there is anything other than weight to consider.

Quality is huge on the list, I haven't shopped around about it, and know little about it regarding the options.
Either way you slice it, even at 22 lbs, that's bloody ridiculously heavy.

Yeah, the people at racing brake said this was the heaviest rotor they have ever weighed. They have an interesting design as well, and the design also has less disc, more hub, which is good if you dont like the rust ring / want to powdercoat the hub

They do look damn good....but I would only get them if they had another 20% off group buy
