So what's the best combo performance wise? Z Tube and Pop charger?

And why is it called a pop charger instead of just a filter?

not sure. it's a popular and cheap setup. i believe it is one of the better ones out there.

intakes are very easy to install as well. if you're new to do-it-yourself, i sugest doing the intake yourself, it will make you more comfortable and daring to tackle more work on the car.

should take no more than 10-15 minutes.

A Z-tube, revup box and K&N filter has been the preferred combo.

"Pop Charger" is just what Jim Wolf Tuning has called their intakes for the longest time. It's just a conical intake filter and a metal heatshield, almost like the Stillen CAI which is a conical intake filter with a plastic heatshield that wraps around the filter a little better. If you want to analyze the systems a little more, the Stillen's heatshield will probably block out more heat, but they both work about the same and neither are as good at keeping out heatsoak (which translates to not losing as much power) as the factory intake box. The revup intake box is just another stock intake box but has a better velocity stack than the intake box from other models.

For the most part, you will still gain power on the top end with any of these intake systems, but you lose usable power, power on the mid end, which is why most people prefer the stock intake here. The Stillen and JWT intake systems are also more prone to losing power from heatsoak when it gets hot out.

You can check out this vendor thread to see the visual differences:

The concept is similar to a velocity stack, on the end of the filter. It's got it's own little cone intake on the end of the cone filter. most cone filters just suck in from the side and have the end capped off.

^ I was dealing with them before my car got totaled, seemed like a legit company I put the order in but since my car was declared totaled I had to cancel so I never really found out if they deliver.

But since they are a forum sponsor which costs a bit of money I think they are legit.

There was a thread about this, they claim they have nothing to do with Eric from Baus just have/had the same names.
