I just used the stock gaskets with no problems.

Any one have an Idea?

It is the g37 Y pipe.

Is a 370z y-pipe as good as a 350z hr y-pipe? Or should I hold out for a 350z hr y-pipe?

IMO hold out for an 08/07 350z pipe, they are the correct ones. The G37/370z Y pipes have smaller diameter piping.

Motordyne said that slightly larger piping would yield HP. The Correct HR Y has a larger diameter then the DE Y pipe.

Since most people sell the G37/370z/350z/07+Sedan HR Y Pipes for around the same price, I would just hold out till you found a correct one.

One thing I did to find one was to look at this http://craiglook.com/all.html?q=350z+exhaust and just Email all the 07/08's if they want to part out or what not.

So you don't think there's merit to this argument that the smaller diameter gives you better low end while sacrificing some high end? My main goals are sound, better throttle response, and low end. There's a guy locally who is selling his 370z y-pipe for pretty cheap ($60). That's cheap, sure, but if it's not what I want, it's still money down the drain!

I noticed better low end when I installed my 350z Pipe as well as high end.

The 370z/G37 Pipe I heard gives better low end because of the smaller piping, so more back pressure. With I guess a highend hit.

Your choice.

This was my question, too. I wonder if smaller-diameter piping yields better exhaust-gas velocity. What I really wonder is if there's even a detectable difference between the G and Z pipes. I'd prefer more benefit on the low end, so I guess the G unit would be my choice.

noisy Y

I picked up a 350 HR-Y a while back and it's been making a minor hissing/rasp sound at WOT since the install. Not sure how many of you guys are familiar with the old 4th gen Maxima's and the y-pipe hissing issues of yore, but I've got a similar 'bees in a can' sound at WOT as I did with an old Cattman pipe. I was hoping that it would go away with time and use; it has to a certain extent, but not 100% gone. Have any of you other guys with HR Ys heard any audible sounds that were less-than-pleasant upon adding the Y?

My headers are probably contributing to some of the issue by changing up the airflow dynamic. Anyone else have a similar setup? DC headers, oe cats, 350HR Y, oe b-pipe, oe muffler.

Yea, I've noticed the hissing at WOT. My Maxima's Y-Pipe back in the day hissed ALL THE TIME...

Same here...no hissing or bees in a can here either. Maybe your y-pipe heat shield vibrating.

I haven't noticed any "bees in the can" with my HR y-pipe and this is coming from a guy that owned a fairly modified 96 Maxima. I do notice that the HR y-pipe does have a bit more metallic "ringing" when the pipe is cold.

Isn't it just the gasket not sealing properly?

I know I started getting this after replacing my cats and y pipe, I think its because I reused the cat-y pipe gaskets.
