Cam must have a short memory if he had to talk to Jim Wolf about that again, him and I called Jim last year and Jim said at that time you could loosen the tention rods causing the gates to open sooner. He even told me I could do it with the turbos in the car "but you will be pi$$ed off by the time you get it done" were his exact words .

Anyway nice to see it coming together. I was going to say i wonder if Cam could use one of Dustins tunes to get your car running if you get a Haltech. The premeth tune would work, the injector sizes might need to adjusted to 550 vs 680cc I am not sure if an educated adjustment could be made to at least make the car drivable till you can get a proper tune? Although I am not sure Cam would just give away a tune....although I guess Dustin paid good money for it already.

haltech has an auto tune feature...at least on its new system, that all you have to do is set basic parameters and it will put a conservative tune on your car while on the dyno. 'tuning for dummies' i call it.

Good to see some good progress happening. Maybe i can sell you my haltech and dual widebands??

When do they expect to be done the install? Or is it done when its done?

They IC piping they will just have to work to make it clear everything. I am sure it was painful for Cam at LS to make mine fit but it came out awesome.

Well turns out the guy was "selling for a friend" and now the friend doesn't want to sell. Situation didn't change, now I just know the story. I'm ready to buy... just say the word

To clear this up, as it is missleading. Haltech has an auto correction fueling map that can be used under light acceleration and cruise. This is not an auto tune system. I have my set to auto correct at under 25% load. Anything past that it switches over to your actual fuel table.

The map has to be set up and activated, and on top of that you get to set the +/- correction parameters. In general, you don't want to have the Haltech adjusting your fuel more than 5%. In other words it is there, but it is by no means an auto tune feature.

If your fuel is out when you start the car, it is very easy to adjust. Anybody that has ever tuned anything can do this in a matter of 10 minutes. You can simply add/deduct fuel by selecting the desired cells, pressing "P" (for precentage and typing in...say -5. By doing this, you take away 5% of fuel from the selected cells. Very easy.

What's the deal with UTEC... I see a bunch of them around (which is often a bad sign) and I seem to recall someone around here had one and it was tough to tune- Is that you Gord?

I noticed it wasn't on the suggested list (still looking at Haltech) but I can't help but notice the UTEC is a fraction of the price of Haltech- even the used ones. I suspect there's a reason for that.

Anyway, nothing new to report on the build except for that it's coming time to get this EMS figured out.

A guy from 350z mentioned Osiris. I'll do some research but anyone have any off hand remarks about it?

It was me that had the UTEC. Cam tried to talk me out of it but would not listen. So i went and bought it and had it installed. Just put out the money for a Haltech and be done with it. Your spending all this money, do it right the first time.

DO NOT GET A UTEC. Ok? Good

Wayne 3 has a utec in his car. From what he and what Dustin have described in the past it has it's hiccups. If it didn't switch between map/maf it would likely be a better system and far easier to tune.

Now what out there uses map / maf only?

Okay well Sasha pointed me out to a haltech brand new for 2500- regular 3400 or so. I'll try to jump on that if the guy gets back.

Speak of the devil-

Hi Ian, vehicle will not run, will start and die, more than likely the injector resistance is wrong, we can put in the old injectors with the new fuel system, then put the aftermarket ones back in when you get your stand alone? Thoughts?

Okay boys- what say ye?
