Parked the G for the winter (except for occasional weekends when the weather is nice). Charged up the battery on the Tacoma because I'm a dumbass and left a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner plugged in last week which drained the battery (even with my 2amp trickle charger running). Winter daily driver changeover is done.
I noticed I'm starting to get little peeling spots on my clearcoat right behind the sunroof, looks like I'll be painting the roof next spring, possibly this winter if my brother ever gets his boat out of the shop.
How did an OBD scanner drain the battery with a 2 amp trickle charger hooked up? How much power does that thing use??
Put down my deposit for a one piece aluminum driveshaft and whiteline rear differential bushings replacement. Will report back once done - won’t be until around Nov 10th due to delivery time of the driveshaft and the shop preparing for SEMA.
Looking forward to seeing how these change the feel of the car. Seemed to make sense to do both at once. Not certain that my rear bushings are trashed or not, but I can’t see this hurting.

the age of the bushing alone makes it worn out, mileage low or not. The poly diff bushing makes a huge difference in drive ability for sure! Maybe consider the new Z1 diff brace if you end up really liking that new throttle feeling.
the one piece driveshaft is going to make the revs rise and fall faster under no load, and significantly decrease rotating mass of the drivetrain. They can make rev matching a little more challenging, but it is a huge improvement for sure for reducing that parasitic loss from the factory 2pc driveshaft.
Threw on a set of snow shoes. Blizzak performance tires. These will be year round and I can safely say that they’re better at dry handling than the old Bridgestone all-seasons. Being run flats which do weigh a few more lbs given the thicker rubber, I was able to drop about 30 lbs by removing the spare and tool kit, so a net loss of around 10-15 lbs. As you can see, the flush look is gone as these are 245s and I kept the spacers. I actually like the aggressiveness. It’s a personal taste I guess.
Those aren't going to be effective as snow tires for very long if you're going to drive on them all year.

Between the driveshaft and my lightweight flywheel, she should rev pretty good.
Will certainly look into that brace since I’m going to be down there anyways.
Ended up ordering the brace as well as the rear wheel hubs and axles from Z1. Looks like these are 370Z oem parts and I was actually surprised at how cheap they were. Figured since they were going to be working in the rear anyways to just get it all done at once.
Thinking to do then do the front hubs and the motor and transmission mounts as the last hurrah for awhile.
Started up my car today morning after work and after about a minute the engine starts misfiring. Plugged in my OBD scanner and it showed a cylinder 4 misfire. I still drove it about 30 miles back home. Luckily, I had saved a few of my old coils from when I changed them all about a year ago. Anyway, I swapped out my # 4 coil and the misfire is now gone.

Not sure but it was doing a bluetooth search the entire time. I was a little shocked it had a dead battery too, it's always had a significant battery draw because it was a fleet vehicle with one of those monitoring/logging computers hooked up to the ECU.
07 g35x Trans pan,modified coupe exhaust,maxima paddles
Hello all I just did a trans pan, exhaust and maxima paddles after looking at 18 infinitis in the junkyard I came to the realization that infiniti has a issue with there pans rusting out around the drain plug so I bought a new one from Z1(great company) and installed over weekend I also did the exhaust I modified a coupe ebay exhaust that I found on FB and picked up for 50 bucks my y-pipe was rotted out and leaking bad enough I could smell exhaust at red lights I wasn't expecting much as far as the sound goes but I was quite surprised and pretty happy then I did my maxima paddles in the g they look great just need the lower cover or to mod mine to fit oh and 2 weeks ago I replace my sunroof drains that had flooded my car a few weeks ago I ran them down to floor and brought them out behind fender wells worked great will post some pics soon as I figure out how ty all I am still new here but so far been a great forum next I will be replacing my gauge cluster with the g37 cluster since my info screen stopped working I'll try to take lots of pics and post a diy ty again
Finally made progress on my oil change. Transporting parts to the machine shop next weekend for cleaning and rebuild prep. Been delaying this a little too long now.

Maybe I missed the thread somewhere, but what kind of work and what’s the build consist of?
