its a gamble. I have done cars and seen the emblem pull of paint. Especially when the emblem was put on when it was fresh.

Debating black or brown painted engine bay. If I go black I can paint a bunch of stuff brown without having too much brown. I like the idea of brown plenum, TB, strut bar braces, etc.

^Both colors would coexist nicely IMO.

Guys, I'm hoping for a very high-level diagnosis, or possible diagnosis based on the following, terrible description:

At speeds about 70/80kmph, when I turn the car right, I hear a faint grinding/rubbing/buzzing/droning type noise coming from the front left tire. It's getting progressively louder, though the vibration isn't necessarily coming through the steering wheel.

Any ideas as to what this could be? Bearings?

Any idea how to determine if this is a bearing only or the hub as well?

Mechanic is quoting me about $320 for hub and bearing + install...but I notice the bearing itself is only about $50 from the US

Thanks. I was about to do it then I thought it wouldn't be a good idea. How long should I wait? BTW, your car looks so sick. Too bad they don't offer that color as OEM.

One way, depending on how bad the bearing is worn, you can jack your car up on one side, leaving the wheel bolted on, grab the top and bottom of the tire and attempt to wiggle the wheel/tire. If there is play, there is a bad bearing. This is more noticeable on the rear than the front. My fronts got loud, humming at higher speeds before I replaced them.

The front is only sold as a complete assembly, hub and bearing. The rear you can purchase the bearing only and hub seperately. If you purchase the bearing alone, you need to have the old one pressed off and the new one pressed back in by your mechanic.
