I have an 07, but I bought the extended warranty. Does it cover things like the steering wheel? Could I get mine replaced for chipping?

if you have the infiniti elite plan, then it probably yes. I know it does not cover specifically squeaks or rattles of any kind tho. The trick is convincing your dealer that is a warrant able item and not a 'wear and tear' thing.

I bought my G35S with the drivers door and passengers door trim pealing and the steering wheel looks like its post a scratch war.. Hate Nissans cheap Aulity for that.
My Bro-in-Law had the 2005 1st gen sedan and had the same issue. Is it that freakin hard to change the trim already??? makes me miss my Audi A6 so FREAKING bad. the G is a cheap Luxury alternative to the german sedans. I got the right to say that because I owned a few audis and BMWs and one Benz and now decided to give Infiniti a try, fun to drive but, quality wise its really crappy.

anyways What I did is got myself the 3M carbon vinyl wrap and wrapped the trim, steering wheel trim, around the Navi screen and rear chrome spoiler(Hate Chrome) and front grille and mirrors. Looks much better. Replacing this trim is POINTLESS.. they will give you the same crap and a year later it will peal.... hah Ill post pics of my G35s Sedan soon

When they replace the wheel they use one like in the G37's which is a smooth plastic and not the original soft touch coated plastic. Same with the door trim.

I also owned an Audi and their interiors generally speaking are fantastic. However let's be honest and fair, Audi's of the last decade suffered much the same soft touch peeling issues on ***** and such,

Sorry, but this statement is simply incorrect. The replacement pieces are not painted, so there's nothing to peel.

Sorry you're so disappointed with the Infiniti brand. Personally, I can accept a few compromises in exchange for saving $8,000+.

You can get it replace so it looks nice instead of looking at the bad one

I have an aftermarket warranty that should let me get warranty work done at any Infiniti dealer. Has anyone experienced Infiniti giving them a harder time since it is not the Elite Plan?

As long as your extended warranty covers those items I don't think they would care!

^^ WHS, but I'd be really surprised if an aftermarket warranty did.

Been lurking here for a bit while I was completing the purchase of my 08. I saw this post and realized that both my wheel and door trims are peeling / chipping. Have a few months left on the factory warranty so am going to try and get these covered. Glad I found this board and read through the thread, otherwise I would've just lived with it.

hello group, i just joined from MA, north of Boston
i have an 08 lakeshore/wheat interior and had a small chip on my steering wheel. I found an pretty exact match of interior paint at Lowe's and applied it to the chip and it blends perfectly. For a black interior, that would be easy to match.

I just gave in and just paid $1000 out the door to have my steering wheel replaced.

Mine was not only peeling on the black trim pieces, but on the outer wheel as well......looked horrible....all of the scratches were there when I got the car used at 36K miles and got progressively worse over the last few years.

I had a client ask me why my steering wheel was so messed up and after that decided screw it-

I just took my '08 in to Passport Infiniti in Alexandria, VA for a couple of things, including the steering wheel. I'll have it back on Monday, we'll see what they say about the steering wheel, the '11 G37 loaner of course does not have this rubbery crap on.
