In a sense, a new chapter has started with the latest revised shortblock only TSB. It'll be interesting to start hearing reports on those shortblocks and how they fair with the OC issue.
I waited until my '06 had 50K on it and then took it in for the tests, etc. I knew it would fail so a new engine at 50K is nice. 3 weeks later and I now have a new shortblock. It's too early to tell but I'll be watching the consumption and will report in when the results become evident. The service manager's comment to me was "Nissan finally figured this out and realized the problem did not include the heads and etc.".
Should be interesting. It sure runs nice.

Does anyone know a direct phone line/email to contact CORPORATE regarding the oil consumption issue? I'm already working with my dealership but I can already tell that the dealer is trying to BS me. I want to be prepared just in case.

^I only know the customer care number, but get a file/case number when you first do talk with them regardless. It will help with (if necessary) future correspondences and if your building a case against Infiniti with the BBB or your Attorney for example (if it gets that stupid).
Asking for file/case number also sends a message that you're savy and mean business with Infiniti about this OC issue

if you don't mind paying for the engine I'm sure they will test if for you...
its a TSB, not a recall.
how much are you burning? if its 1 qt per 1000 miles or less, I would just add the oil and not worry about it unless it gets worse

I have a question, maybe it has already been answered. everytime at night when the headlights are on, i can see smoke coming out from the hood. the car runs smooth, it does not heat up, there is no unusual engine noise, so does the smoke mean the G is burning oil??
Planning on another oil change this week for this issue. Siince the last change it burned off all 5 qts in less than 1500 miles. Engine noise and teh oil light let me know it was burning oil faster than the last oil change and I was forced to put 3 qts of oil in it being a couple of hours from home. I think the steps needed to prove that there is a known problem is kind of silly. How come there arent any class actions suits for this?? I dont feel the dealership has tried to really scam me yet,but listening to others it sounds like the scamming and games are random. This is similar to the 1MZFE sludge motors Toyota had. Blame the consumer for poor mintenance as long as possible until legal action. But they had much larger exposure due to the number of units sold.
Cant believe you guys are getting screwed so bad by the dealers. I went in and had my engine ordered right after i failed. Didnt need any paperwork showing oil changes. I told them it was burning oil, did their test, failed, they said ok and ordered the new motor the next morning.
Quit letting them pull their BS! Print out the TSB and ask them where it says all this BS they keep spewing to you guys!
Dropping my car off tomorrow afternoon so they can start the block replacement.
